Sample Language for Your Will or Trust

The following language may help you and your attorney when drawing up a will or trust that meets your objectives.

“I give, devise and bequeath the sum of $________ or _______% from my residuary estate to Unbound, a Missouri nonprofit corporation (EIN 43-1243999], currently located at 1 Elmwood Ave., Kansas City, KS 66103, or its successor thereto, for its unrestricted use and purpose.”

We attempt to honor donor’s wishes consistent with Unbound policies and procedures. For gifts without specific instructions, donated funds are applied first to continue active sponsorships – both current and those previously assigned to the donor. This includes the continuation of sponsorship benefits, emergency assistance, family need and costs of higher education for sponsored youth. Estate gifts intended to assist sponsored friends can be made to Unbound for the benefit of their sponsored friend, either named or un-named in the donor’s will or trust. Unbound cannot make direct disbursement of funds to current or former sponsored friends. 

Please note: The policies of Unbound do not allow Unbound or its representatives to serve as personal representative, executor, trustee or witness for a will or trust.
